The purpose of the 'global statistics' section is to allow quick identification of countries where an ecosystem intervention is particularly appropriate for reducing the impact of certain hazards. They could be considered as priority countries for implementing Eco-DRR programs (e.g. protecting mangroves to reduce storm exposure). Once the countries have been identified, it is then possible to get more detail in the 'country profile' section.
This section is focused on protection, since it keeps into account the existing ecosystems that need to be preserved : protection opportunity surfaces were considered for areas where the ecosystem coverage was above the median of the country.
In the visualisations presented below, only cells with a high level of human exposure have been considered.
